On March 3, 2016, Intuit announced plans to sell Quicken to H.I.G. What do you think? Would you switch to Mint if you could keep your Quicken data? To me, it would largely depend on whether or not it has the ability to track investments down to individual trades, keep track of tax lots, etc. Quicken is a personal finance management tool developed by Quicken Inc. In the meantime, Intuit is hopefully working to make Quicken Essentials for Mac suck less but that’s a pretty tall order. Patzer also stated that the ability to import your data into is “likely coming in the next six-to-nine months.” Given that Patzer founded Mint, which was later acquired by Intuit, so he hopefully knows what he’s talking about. It’s still not clear if Apple will allow this, or if Intuit will be able to make it work, but there’s a chance that Quicken 2007 will be capable of running on Lion by the end of the summer. I am looking at archiving the Quicken Essentials data in an Excel file and starting new the first of the year with a application like CheckBook Pro.A commenter named George pointed out a recent MacObserver article in which an Intuit exec named Aaron Patzer revealed that they’re negotiating with Apple for permission to embed critical bits of Rosetta into an updated version of Quicken 2007, thereby enabling it to run on Lion. There is no such thing as 'Quicken Essentials 2011 for Mac' or 'Quicken Essentials 2010 for Mac'. I see no value in a subscription based service, so I refuse to by a Quick en 2018 subscription. In the mean time, I am using remote desktop to access the files on the computer running the recovered Quicken Essentials app. I plan to try again, but just have not had the time to noodle through the process. Was able to install and run Quicken Mac 2007 on my Macbook Pro O/S 10.13.1, but could not import the data from the Quicken Essentials files stored on my Macbook. Check your checking, cut your debt, budget for vacation or pay bills automatically using features standard in Quicken for the last 10 versions.
I purchased this version because my Quicken Essentials stopped working when I upgraded my Macbook Pro to High Sierra (Apple stopped supporting PowerPC apps). Not a good replacement for Quicken Essentials
